Why are curved screens more likely to reflect light and be dazzling? Let's start with the optical structure
Guide
The reflection hazard of curved screens is geometrically magnified: the Angle at which the curved surface reflects ambient light is more likely to point towards the human eye. At the same time, the curved surface film with adhesive layer bonding requires a compatible design of 3D hot bending process and optical layer.
01. Geometric problem: Reflection Angle
The specular reflection of a flat screen is like a mirror - the Angle of reflection is predictable, and it can be avoided by slightly turning the Angle. The curvature of the edge area of the curved screen continuously changes, "folding" the reflections of the lamps and Windows into more viewing angles. The reflection area directly facing the user is actually larger.
This is the reason why many users of curved screens have reflections no matter how they pose: the problem does not lie in the pose, but in the geometry.
02. Process issue: The contradiction between lamination and optical layer
The dilemma of curved surface film application: Flexible film (water-based) is easy to apply but has weak optical performance and protection. The glass film is well protected but must be formed by 3D heat bending. The high temperature during the hot bending process also tests the tolerance of optical coatings - ordinary AR layers are prone to failure after hot bending.
Guanfudun Qu's solution is to first complete the scinique® optical layer (circular polarization conversion + magnetron sputtering AR) in a planar state, and then carry out surface forming, splitting "optical performance" and "3D bonding" into two steps to solve.
03. Verification question: How to verify polarization on a curved surface
The inspection card can still be used on curved surfaces: Display a white image on the screen and slowly rotate the inspection card close to the center of the line of sight - the center area has the smallest curvature and is more reliable for observation. There may be slight reading differences in the edge area due to Angle changes, which is a normal phenomenon.
When choosing a curved surface solution, it is recommended to confirm at the same time: the source of the reflectance data, whether the optical layer maintains the index after thermal bending, and whether a detection card is attached.
