The design principles of Woowhead: no color bias, no reduction in brightness, and no play with concepts

No color deviation means that dyeing filters cannot be used, and no brightness reduction means that the problem cannot be solved by absorbing light. The remaining technical path is only optical structure optimization - which is more difficult and provides a more complete experience.
01. The bottom line is a constraint
The two most common shortcuts in the eye care peripheral industry: dyeing to filter blue light (costing a few cents) and matte (a violent solution to prevent reflection). Both shortcuts lead to the same kind of experience degradation: color cast or fogging.
Woowhead has incorporated "no color cast and no reduction in brightness" into its design guidelines, which is equivalent to blocking all shortcuts in advance. There is only one way left: to work on the optical structure - to change the polarization state with phase delay and cancel out reflections with destructive interference.
02. The cost of the structural scheme
The equipment investment for magnetron sputtering AR coating is much higher than that of the immersion process, and the optical accuracy requirements for 1/4λ wave sheets are much higher than those for ordinary PET release layers. Behind SGS's measured light transmittance of 96.5% and haze of 0.4% lies the approach of "solving problems with structure rather than absorption".
The cost of this route lies in the cost and yield rate, while the benefits are color fidelity and brightness fidelity - for design, photo editing and viewing users, this is uncompromising.
03. Another interpretation of not playing with concepts
"Anti-blue light", "anti-flicker" and "anti-myopia" are three concepts that have been overused to the point of being distorted. Woowhead's statement is very clear: Dyeing to prevent blue light conflicts with our route, so we will not adopt it. Flicker is a problem with screen dimming and cannot be solved by the film. Anti-myopia is beyond the evidence limit of any film product and will never be claimed.
Making clear what not to do and doing what solidly are two sides of the same thing.
