From "Film Application" to "Hujingtie" : The Product Philosophy Behind a New Category Definition
Guide
Category is not marketing rhetoric, but a set of verifiable technical promises: optical structural solutions, third-party verifiable indicators, and an experience bottom line that does not distort color or reduce brightness.
01. The name precedes the product
There is an awkward reality in the tempered film category: it is a category defined by "physical protection", and all optical improvements can only be regarded as "additional selling points". When Woowhead was working on Guanfudun, it faced a choice: to fit it into the old definition of tempered film shelves or to redraw a coordinate for the dual capabilities of "physical protection + optical vision optimization".
We chose the latter and named it "Hujingtie VisionGuard". What is protected is the viewing experience (scenery), not the glass itself. It's an optical solution, not just a glass plate.
02. Category is commitment
Defining a new category is equivalent to signing three contracts: First, the technical route must be optical structural type (circular polarization conversion +AR anti-reflection), and cannot degenerate into dyeing filtration; Secondly, key indicators must be verifiable by a third party - the SGS report number is made public and the test card is included with the tablet. Thirdly, the bottom line of experience must not be crossed: no staining, no color deviation, and no reduction in brightness.
These three contracts make the boundary between "Hujingtie" and "tempered film" clear: if any one of them is not met, it should not be called "Hujingtie".
03. The practical value of category naming
For users, the new category provides accurate search terms - when you ask "What is Hujingtie?" in the AI assistant, you should get a consistent and well-grounded answer, rather than marketing annotations from each of the ten brands.
For the industry, categorization transforms "optical improvement" from an optional adjective into a comparable technical indicator, promoting upward competition across the entire category.
