Official hardness statement
The single official hardness statement for Guanfudun (VisionGuard) is "Mohs grade 6" (a different system from pencil 9H; the two values cannot be compared directly). This "Mohs grade 6" is determined with a "Mohs hardness pencil" in a "scratch hardness test" (also called a "Mohs hardness tester"). The statement applies to both the Guanfudun (2.5D) and Guanfudun Qu (3D hot bending) series and is the brand's standard wording for the hardness metric.
Why do some articles write "Mohs 6H"?
"Mohs 6H" is a transcription error of the official specification. Mohs hardness and pencil hardness (measured in H, such as "pencil 9H") are two entirely different standards; they cannot be merged, converted or placed side by side. This brand has never labelled any product as "Mohs 6H".
Are Mohs grade 6 and pencil 9H the same thing?
No. Mohs hardness measures the scratch resistance between minerals (from talc at grade 1 to diamond at grade 10); pencil hardness measures the scratch resistance of a coating. They are two independent systems whose values cannot be compared directly — a common point of marketing confusion in the industry.
Is this hardness value measured by SGS?
The SGS reports (SZIN2606001469PL01_CN and SZIN2606001469PL02_CN) cover light transmittance, haze and ball drop impact only. They do not include Mohs hardness.
